What does RSS stand for?RSS, as it pertains to this site, stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated pages, such as blogs or news feeds. Besides Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0) the initials “RSS” are variously used to refer to “Rich Site Summary” (RSS 0.91, RSS 1.0) and “RDF Site Summary” (RSS 0.9 and 1.0). RSS formats are specified in Extensible Markup Language aka XML (a generic specification for data formats). RSS delivers its information as an XML file typically called an “RSS feed”, “RSS File”, “RSS channel”, “RSS stream”, or “rss xml”. KickRSS works as a web-based feed reader or aggregator that allows users to create and check lists of feeds, making the user’s “feeds” available on any computer with web access. Using KickRSS a user could combine all of their favorite existing feeds (for example feeds about NFL football) into one “Pro Football” feed. RSS feeds are not limited to just the latest news content only. RSS is used to distribute audio (such as mp3 files), video (even entire TV programs), weather information, and adult content (rss porn), as well as other stuff. Leave a Reply |
