I have been watching some RSS related domains and was hoping to pick up a great domain name (like KickRSS) to create some new RSS services.

I noticed last week that DigRSS.com and RSSware.com (as well as RSSrealtor.com and RSSclient.com) were coming up for expiration on a domain deletion list and I thought about picking those up. Be careful what you think about! Darn if someone snatched them up just this week. In fact, two of them turned out to be an RSS buddy of mine who is doing similar work, so I guess I am OK there (maybe he’ll give me some link love for writing this, ha ha).

DigRSS has a good sound to it but I wonder if people will relate it to Digress (to stray from the topic) or accidently somehow relate it to Digg. I did a check on dig.com and it turns out that is owned by Disney. I would have never thought it but in their case the DIG stands for Disney Internet Group. The folks at DigRSS will have to come up with something snappy and memorable to get their name to stick.

The domain RSSrealtor.com sounded like a good place to load up an RSS feed for MLS listings or a huge Magpie driven collection of RSS feeds for the real estate industry. As if that space is not saturated enough.

I already talked to the guy who picked up RSSware.com and he is planning to promote RSS related software (mostly opensource) as well as some RSS widgets and plugins he says he is working on.

Either way, very cool stuff!
